CURIO TRIPS PACKING LIST

baggage allowances

  • Typically international flights with large carriers allow passengers to check baggage up to 23kg in the hold and carry on a small bag or laptop case up to 10kg per person
  • Some airlines charge extra to check baggage in the hold. We will let you know your baggage allowance in the inclusions section of your trip page or in your packing list for Secret Trips

CARRY-ON LUGGAGE

In your carry-on you should pack everything that you can't afford to lose, or buy more of while away:

  • Important documentspassport, drivers license, International Driving Permit (IDP) or equivalent, travel insurance and emergency contact details (be sure to leave a copy of your important travel docs with friends and family, that way they know exactly where you are and how to reach you in case of an emergency (for secret trips we will forward a copy of your e-itinerary to your trusted person))
  • Money: credit cards, local currency and USD for entry visas and emergencies
  • Toiletries & medicines: prescription meds with original labels, glasses and contact lenses, travel first aid kit: pain killers, antiseptic hand gel etc., feminine hygiene products that can be tricky to find overseas, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, any medications you take regularly that you need to take during your flight
  • Electronics: worldwide travel adapters, flashlight, camera, phones, chargers and headphones (some flights no longer provide headphones and require you to download the airlines app for in-flight entertainment)
  • One spare destination specific outfit in case your checked luggage doesn't make it
  • For fun: book, journal, reusable water bottle (save money and the environment by not having to purchase plastic bottles everywhere you go)
  • On your return flight: anything fragile you bought as a memento while away
